Vampire Discussion

Filed under: rants — bardicknowledge @ 9:51 pm

So tonight I went to a discussion at one of the local Universities concerning Vampires. I was horribly let down. The presenter, instead of talking about the history of Vampires or the meaning behind the different traits of Vampires, talked basically only about Vampires in media, in was truly boring and pointless.

I walked away from this discussion with nothing expect dissatisfaction. I don’t even want to write about this crap anyway. I will let my co-author write about it if he wants.

  1. Yeah I was pretty disappointed as well, although the tile was The Afterlife of Dracula so it was supposed to be on the vampire mythology in contemporary culture, although I don’t think the lecture really managed that very well. It lacked focus as the lecturer constantly went off tangent with admittedly interesting thoughts, but it never came together as a whole.

Don’t let this make you think that this is what all King’s lectures are like, since this one wasn’t all that great. I’ve been to ones that were considerably better.

Perhaps I’ll write something about the mythology of the vampire and its appearances in modern culture since I’m in a gothic mood.
