Zotero – A researchers dream

Filed under: blog, internet, reviews, software, tech — bardicknowledge @ 9:10 pm

Here’s a wonderful Firefox 2.0 add-on for those that do a lot of research. What it is basically is an advance note taker that can can’t make notes out of selected text, capture pages, allows you to tag notes and is searchable.

The way the notes are stored though is one of the best parts. It creates a library, similar to that of winamp but it allows you to make folder and sub folder, etc.

You also have the option to export you notes but the add-on is currently in beta so it isn’t yet compatible with MS Office but hopefully soon it will be.

Overall, a great add-on for those of us that do a lot of research (particularly in the blog community) where the data isn’t allows a constant, making it a poor choose to just bookmark the page.
