Favorite BT clients/tacker/indexes

Filed under: internet, musings, tech — bardicknowledge @ 5:29 pm

To everyone that reads my blog or even stumbles across it, I have a question for you.

What is you favorite client, tracker and index ( an index is a search site like isohunt that indexes other trackers) .

My personal favorites are uTorrent, iptorrents, and isohunt.  uTorrent in my opinion is the best and I have found it gives me the best speeds overall, iptorrents is a great private tracker with amazing speeds. And Isohunt is huuuuuge index indexing a crap load of trackers.

Argue with me  if you want, but just make your point. I am also accepting challenages on the client. If you think another client is the best I will try it, customize it for best speeds and report back. I will admit defeat if you can defeat my beauty, uTorrent 😛

  1. i use tomototorrent client on mac osx 10.3.9 i’ve tried others but their speeds were really bad and i can get some quite decent ones out of this client

i love isohunt too for searching for random things but i mostly get my tv torrents from mininova or demonoid a few hours after theyre released

  2. Yeah, I use utorrent, too, and it far exceeds my old client, Azureus: provides faster speeds, yet more bandwidth with which to surf the Web.

  3. I personally don’t know a lot about my torrent clients since I don’t own a mac. I heard, xtorrent i think, is a really good one for it though.

As to azureus, i never found it to be any faster. i found the software itself clunky and bloated, eating too much mem for my liking.

  4. I use utorrent as well, with isohunt as my index and sometimes torrentspy.
